Peer Gynt For The Eugene Ballet

VIDEO MAPPING AND VIDEO SET DESIGN

EUGENE: OR  2018

Peer Gynt was a collaborative work brought to life by the Eugene Ballet led by Artistic Director and Resident Choreographer Tony Pimbal. Toni commissioned Satoko Motouji to create watercolor backdrops. Jessey Zepeda joined the project to engineer the projection system and create motion graphics with the works of Satoko. Satoko, Toni, and Jessey created the death scene of Peers’ mother using experimental macro-video techniques in Satokos studio. Satoko also performed watercolor-painted transitions to the ballet score during the same content-creating session. This performance featured the first use of AI image generation by Jessey. Further video collaboration with Andrew Smith at Process Artifact rendered the final content.
